Basement Windows

Windows are able to make your basement more aesthetically pleasing and boost safety. Large basement windows, sometimes called "egress windows," from Pella of South Burlington are made to allow more light into underground spaces than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that are put above ground. They also provide a way to get out in case of an emergency.

The biggest difference between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows have to be made for an average-sized person to get out in order to meet safety requirements set up in building codes. You can select from properly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you put in basement windows. Be sure you completely understand local building codes before you purchase basement windows.
